JR Cox Law was founded by Jeff Cox with the mission to serve those needing expert legal representation and advice in an increasingly more complex litigious society. Jeff Cox is an accomplished attorney with a strong combination of professional legal and government experience. Before starting JR Cox Law, Mr. Cox served with two Indiana Attorney Generals and managed a number of high profile cases and public corruption investigations resulting in multi-million dollar judgments and settlements for the tax payers of Indiana.
Mr. Cox has worked for the City of Indianapolis-Marion County while working in the city's Office of Corporation Counsel. While serving the citizens of Indianapolis, Mr. Cox researched issues of litigation, helped develop public relations strategies for the office and represented the city prosecutor in enforcement of city ordinances.
Mr. Cox is a native of Ohio where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in National Security Policy Studies from The Ohio State University. After college, Jeff moved back to Indiana where he had grown up and earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University School of Law, graduating cum laude while working a full-time job through law school. Mr. Cox has also trained at the National Attorneys General Training and Research Institute (NAGTRI) in the area of trial advocacy. Mr. Cox is licensed to practice law in the states of Indiana and California.
Mr. Cox is also a published author and independent military and classical historian whose first book, Rising Sun, Falling Skies: The Disastrous Java Sea Campaign of World War II, was released in 2014. His second book, Morning Star, Midnight Sun: The Early Guadalcanal/Solomons Campaign August-October 1942, the first of a two-volume series on the Guadalcanal and Solomon Island Campaign of World War II, will be released in February 2018, with the second voilume coming shortly thereafter. Mr. Cox has authored columns for the Saturday Evening Post and assisted author and personal friend Joyce Lain Kennedy on her books Cover Letters For Dummies and Job Interviews For Dummies. Mr. Cox is has been published in electronic magazines like Military History Online.
